The Process

Find your Reading Buddy and read Growing Vegetable Soup.  Talk about plants that you can eat.  Draw a picture of a plant you like to eat.

Go to our garden and plant vegetable seeds with your class.  You can plant radish, corn, broccoli, pea, lettuce and carrot seeds.

Water your seeds everyday and draw a picture on your garden calendar.

When the plants start to grow count the number of plants that grew. Write those numbers on our plant chart.

Take a picture with the digital camera. Print your pictures. Hang your pictures on the wall.

Measure the plants every week with our class ruler.  Write those numbers on our growth chart.

Visit some garden sites on the Internet. Draw a picture of the site you liked best.

Pick your plants when they are ready.  Wash your plants. Eat all you want.
