Oh no! All of the information in your city has been erased about Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and Shakespeare! Since you and your class have been studying about the Renaissance, the city is looking to you to find and report all the vital information about these great Renaissance men.
As you look frantically around the city you have found one clue on who these men are. There is a torn piece of paper on the ground which states:
"In the time of the Renaissance, there were three men who influenced the world. Their ideas about how life could be lived through science, art, and inventions made them icons for humankind."

Since the resources in your city have vanished, it is your job to find as much information possible about one of these men through the internet, the classroom or your school's library. You must present and discuss your findings to the community. It is your goal to give a clear presentation on how these men became well known.
Once you succeed with your work, you will receive keys to the city. Of course, the more keys you get, the better.

You will work alone or in a group of no more than 3-4 students. If you work alone, you will answer each of the questions. If you work in a group, each person will answer one of the following questions.
In your presentation, you will discuss:
Who is the person you are reporting?
When and where did this person live?
How did his ideas influence people then and now?
What was it that made this person well known?
Why were his ideas important?
Begin your research by creating a concept map or using Inspiration software. In this map, write out what information you will gather.
Now is the time to choose your Renaissance man. Your city is depending on you to find this information. Good luck!

Ahh yes, the grade. I suppose there should be a pay off since you have worked yourself silly finding the information that has been lost. Your bounty will be given in a collection of keys. There are a total of 16 keys you can collect. These are given if and only if you or your group has put in the effort. So please, do your best and restore the city's rich knowledge of these great men. If you have finished your task earlier than expected, there are some other things that you could do to further your findings of these Renaissance men.
1. Pick two men and discuss the similarities between them. What things have they done that have changed the way we look at the world?
2. If you could change any of the ideas of these men, what would you change?
