Curriculum Nights

Osborn School District #8

Osborn District schools offer opportunities for students and their families to socialize in a carnival-like atmosphere with fun educational games. Schools have math nights, literacy nights, science nights, curriculum fun and games nights, or arts nights. Many of the games played can be taken home by the students who attend.

Math Night

Math Night 2007 Longview School

The staff at Longview really went the extra mile when they put together a family Math & Games Night on September 13th. It was great to see teachers collaborate as they planned lesson-based math games for their students. In the days prior to the event students practiced playing the games they would later teach to their parents.  "I can honestly say that I’ve never seen so many smiles on our campus as everyone engaged in the occasion", says Longview Math & Science Collaborative Peer Teacher, Torey Tryon.  "Students roamed the campus with Ziploc baggies full of games, the PTO was here raffling tickets, and the volleyball teams sold pizza and drinks to a long line of hungry families."
