About Encanto
Encanto Elementary School provides an environment in which our children can feel safe, learn and grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We are a community of learners who value, respect and celebrate the differences and the diversity of those around us. We provide our students with a strong, academically focused curriculum that is aligned and assessed in accordance with the Arizona State Standards in all areas.
Our focus is on Early Childhood Education. Encanto is a unique primary school, which educates children in grades Kindergarten through Third. We help our children strive to meet their highest potential. Our confident, hard working Third Graders move on to our sister school, Clarendon, where they attend grades Fourth through Sixth.
Students at Encanto attend a wide variety of special areas classes to enhance their education. Specialists in the areas of art, music, physical education and library teach our students, helping them to learn and grow in these special areas. Classroom teachers take their own classes to learn about and use technology in our computer lab. Encanto also offers life skills lessons for first graders and prevention classes for students in second and third grade.Encanto also offers after school programs for our students and evening events for families. Many of our children attend Champions Club, Learning Circle, and Enrichment Classes and Sports. Different enrichment classes are offered throughout the year. Getting families involved in our programs is important. Throughout the year we have many special events for our families to participate in. Some of our annual events include music programs at PTA meetings, Family Literacy Night, Math & Science Night, Reading Picnics, MotherRead and FatherRead, Winter Craft Night, Young Authors Celebration, Volunteer Recognition Night and our Spring Carnival.
Encanto has many special programs which help to meet the various needs of our student population, their families, and our surrounding community. Some of these programs, as well as participating partners, include: free breakfast for students, free and reduced lunch, Encanto Family Center, Osborn Health Services, Scopes Mental Health Services, Valley Big Brothers and Big Sisters, School Bell, KidsRead, RIF, OASIS and Experience Corps, and Title One.Once again, welcome to Encanto Elementary School.
